We are always in the market for medium to large parcels of quality used pallet racking or longspan shelving and we can arrange to take it down and transport it if required. If you have a warehouse full of industrial racking that you don’t need then the thought of getting rid of it can seem like a daunting one, but we will happily give you as much guidance as you need. The value of used warehouse racking is based on a number of criteria: The condition of the racking. We will need you to send us a few clear, close up photos so that we can see what your used racking looks like. The manufacturer of the racking. Popular makes such as Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack and PSS are are always of interest, but we will listen to all offers if the quality and quantity are right. If you aren’t sure what type of pallet racking you have, we will be able to identify it from the photos. The size, quantity and duty of the upright frames. We need to know the height and depth of the frames (in millimetres), how many of the you have, and the duty of the frames. The duty might be stamped on the frames- M (medium), S (standard), H (heavy duty) or E (extra heavy duty) are examples of what you might expect to find. The size, quantity and load capacity of the horizontal beams. The size of the beams is the clear entry measurement- the space between the upright frames when beams are in place. The load capacity might be on load notices at the end of each run, or otherwise if you can tell us the height of the front face of the beam, and whether the beam is a box or open section, we may be able to calculate how much weight they can take. Which used racking frames do I need? 14/10/2020 News There are a huge range of used racking frames available and finding the appropriate materials for your specific requirements isn’t always straightforward. Our team are always happy to offer you as much help and advice as you need, but here is some guidance which might help you find what you are looking for. A pallet racking frame is made up of two upright legs, joined together with horizontal and diagonal bracing (in a zig zag pattern) and with footplates attached. To create a single bay of warehouse racking you would need two frames and at least four beams, the horizontal bars that your pallets would sit on. There are at least 20 different manufacturers of industrial racking and almost none of their components are compatible with each other. So, if you don’t know whether you have Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack or any other make, the first place to look would be our “identify my racking” page, where you can find photos of many leading brands of pallet racking. If this doesn’t help, send us some clear close up photos of your racking and we can usually tell you what you have. The depth measurement is very important in finding the frames that you need, this is taken from outside edge to outside edge of the uprights. 900mm and 1100mm are by far the most common sizes, but others such as 1050mm, 700mm and 1200mm are sometimes used. Older pallet racking, particularly Dexion Speedlock may also have measurements in imperial sizes, such as 3ft (914mm) and 3ft 6in (1067mm). If you are looking to add bays to your existing racking then the frames you buy must be exactly the same depth. We can usually supply frames in heights from 2000mm to 10000mm and possibly even higher. Standard heights are in 500mm increments but if you need a specific height please let us know and we can cut the frames down accordingly. Tall frames are often made up of two piece of upright spliced together, with a heavier duty section at the bottom. The load capacity of the frames is determined by the duty of the frame and the height of the first beam level. The duty of the frame is often stamped on the upright, it could be a letter (M- medium, SD- standard duty, H- heavy duty etc) or a number (Apex frames will be UK8, UK12, UK16 or UK20). Please let us know if you need to match existing frames, or if you know the maximum weight you will be putting in each bay. We can supply individual upright legs, often to replace one which has been damaged. If this is the case, we need to know the duty of your existing frames so that we can supply a compatible replacement. Bracing can also be bought separately if you need to replace a bent piece. Dexion shelving or Dexion racking- what do I need to order? 08/10/2020 News Dexion shelving is a name sometimes used for Dexion racking, or pallet racking to use the generic name. Buying it can be a complicated business if you aren’t familiar with the specific terms and the way it works, but we can help you to find the right warehouse storage solution for your business. People will often ask for Dexion racking when actually they want warehouse racking from a completely different (and non-compatible) manufacturer. If you send us a photo of the racking you have, we can identify the racking system and then give you a quote for compatible materials. Apex, Link 51, Redirack and PSS are all popular industrial racking makers that we always have in stock and we can usually source less common systems such as Hilo, Sperrin and Stow. The size of the frames and beams that you need will depend on the dimensions of the space you have available and size of the pallets that you are storing. UK pallets are 1200mm x 1000mm and Euro pallets are 1200mm x 800mm, but if you are storing non-standard pallets or non-palletised items we can adjust standard pallet racking sizes to accommodate your stock.
