What is a pallet racking bay? 12/04/2021 News A pallet racking bay is two upright frames joined together with pairs of horizontal beams to create levels on which pallets can be stored. You should always have runs of at least two bays joined together, with at least two beam levels in each bay, for stability and for the manufacturer’s stated load capacities to be valid. Upright frames are made up of two legs braced together and with footplates attached. Standard depths are 900mm and 1100mm and they can be any height from two metres to fifteen metres (and beyond). Horizontal beams start from 950mm long and are available in a wide variety of sizes, sometimes over 4000mm in length. 2700mm is the most common warehouse racking beam length, but 1350mm, 2250mm and 3300mm are also widely used. The load capacity of the beams ranges from a few hundred kilos to at least three tonnes for a uniformly distributed load (UDL). The value of used warehouse racking is based on a number of criteria: The condition of the racking. We will need you to send us a few clear, close up photos so that we can see what your used racking looks like. The manufacturer of the racking.
